The dobby border isn’t there for style (although it does add an elegant touch, we admit). Its primary role is structural: it reinforces the edge of the towel, making it more resistant to wear and tear. And yes, between frequent washes, snagging on the towel rack, and twisting after a shower, our towels endure a real daily marathon.
A more durable towel? It all comes down to a single thread… or almost.
As some home linen specialists explain, the challenge with a towel is finding the right balance between thickness and absorbency. Too thin, it dries quickly but doesn’t dry anything. Too thick, it becomes a sponge that never dries (and hello, unpleasant odors…).
