-
Why it works: Aloe vera contains polysaccharides, glycoproteins, and enzymes that soothe inflammation, boost collagen production, and provide intense hydration without heaviness.
-
-
Skin benefits: Plumps skin instantly, reduces redness, improves elasticity, and gives a bright, refreshed glow.
-
Nana’s rule: Always use fresh gel from the leaf (scooped out cleanly) or 100% pure organic aloe vera gel—avoid versions with alcohol or additives.
How to Make Nana’s “Wrinkle-Erase” Vaseline Balm
You’ll need:
-
2 tablespoons Vaseline (petroleum jelly)
-
The oil from 3–4 vitamin E capsules (or 1 tsp pure vitamin E oil)
-
1 tablespoon fresh aloe vera gel
-
A small, sterilized glass jar
-
A clean spoon or spatula
Instructions:
-
Gently melt the Vaseline using a double-boiler method (place the container in a bowl of hot water) until just softened—not liquified.
-
Puncture the vitamin E capsules and squeeze the oil into the softened Vaseline.
-
Add the fresh aloe vera gel.
-
Stir continuously in one direction until fully blended and creamy.
-
Allow to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until it returns to a balm consistency.
-
Store in a cool, dark place. Use within 2–3 weeks for maximum freshness.
How and When to Apply for Best Results
-
Best used at night, as the final step in your skincare routine. Apply to cleansed, slightly damp skin.
-
Warm a tiny amount between your fingers and gently press—don’t rub—onto face, neck, décolletage, and around eyes (avoid direct eyelids).
-
Let it work overnight, waking up to deeply nourished, noticeably smoother skin.
-
Can also be used as a targeted wrinkle treatment on laugh lines, forehead, and crow’s feet during the day under makeup.
