Two burglars entered the house of a 91-year-old widow, unaware a clever trap was waiting.

 

Evelyn’s late husband, Howard, had once promised they’d live and di:e together, but fate had other plans. One night, he suffered a heart att:ack and passed away, leaving Evelyn to live alone.

Howard had owned a successful antique shop and kept valuable items in their home. Rumors of his fortune had led to past robbery attempts. Evelyn, despite feeling unsafe, refused help from neighbors—even though many knew she lived alone.

One day, Evelyn noticed her 31-year-old neighbor Rick lurking suspiciously near her fence. He quickly looked away and acted casual, but something about him unsettled her. Rumors around the neighborhood claimed Rick had lost his job and sent his son to live with his parents. Evelyn kept her distance.

The next evening, while reading on her balcony, she caught Rick staring into her bedroom window. His cold gaze left her uneasy. She secured the house and began checking every lock and blind more carefully each night.

One night, while making tea, Evelyn heard a sound in the garden. Grabbing a frying pan, she peeked out and saw Rick and another man climbing her fence. Her heart raced.
